Delete your account

You can delete your daya account at any time, and you do not need to ask us to do it: both the app and the website start the process with a single button. This page exists so the route is publicly documented even when you do not have the app to hand.

In the app

Open the Profile tab, scroll to the bottom and choose Delete account. After the confirmation the deletion happens immediately - there is no waiting period and no support approval involved.

The same action is available on the website: on the Profile page as a customer, and under Dashboard → Profile as a salon.

It works for all three account types:

  • Customer - your account and personal data are deleted.
  • Salon owner - your salons are deleted along with the account, and any running subscription is cancelled. If your salon is under a moderation suspension, please contact us first.
  • Staff member - your account is deleted, and your future bookings are cancelled with a notification sent to the customers concerned.

By email

If you cannot sign in, write to info@daya.now from the email address you registered with. We answer within one month at the latest. We may ask you a question back in order to verify your identity.

What is deleted and what remains

Deletion runs immediately, but not all data is treated the same way. There are four categories:

  1. Deleted immediately from our main systems: your name, email address, phone number, profile picture, the questionnaire answers you gave for your bookings and any images uploaded with them, your loyalty data, notifications, saved devices and sign-in sessions. For a salon owner this also covers the salon's data and bookings.
  2. Kept in anonymised form: as a customer, the fact of your past bookings in the salon's revenue records. The salon can see that a service took place on a given day at a given price, but no longer that it was yours.
  3. Kept because of a legal obligation or legitimate interest: accounting records (such as subscription invoices) that we are required by law to retain, and entries in security and moderation logs.
  4. Kept temporarily in backups: in backups taken before the deletion, your data remains until the end of the backup cycle (daily backups 30 days, monthly backups 12 months). Backups are used only for restoring the system.

Retention periods and further detail are in section 6 of the Privacy Notice.
